About the Presentation:

Alcohol? Marijuana? Opioids? Stimulants?  As parents, we want to keep our teens safe from these substances, but we don't always understand the best ways to do so.  In this presentation, parents will learn how Substance Use Disorders develop, how they progress, and how they can be treated. 

About the Presenter:

Dr. Joanne Ketch is the clinical director of The Prairie Recovery Center, a residential treatment center for adolescents and adults recovering from substance use and process addictions.  As a widely published Doctor of Professional Counseling, Dr. Ketch specializes in addictive and compulsive behaviors and helping individuals and their families reach their full potential.  

About the Workshop Series:

"Parenting Today's Teens" is a FREE workshop series sponsored by Mirus Academy, focusing on raising teens with positive psychology for peaceful parenting.  We are an inclusive group and open to all parents of teens in the Katy community.  The profesional presentation will be approximately one hour, followed by discussion and socializing. Refreshments will be served.  RSVP is encouraged, but not required, so please feel free to invite other parents to join you!
