MIRUS ACADEMY
Private Micro-School for 8th - 12th grade
Elective Courses
All students are required to enroll in elective courses in order to meet their graduation requirements.
Students who are still working on their Foreign Language requirement generally enroll in 1 elective per semester (two total for the year). Students who have completed their Foreign Language requirement generally enroll in 2 electives (four total for the year). Please talk with the school's counselor or academic director if you are not sure how many elective classes you need to take this school year.
Most elective courses are online, and you will work on them during your Study Hall period. But, each year some elective courses are offered "in person" (directly taught by a teacher in a classroom setting). The list below shows the most popular elective options (please see the "Course Catalog" in the Resources section for a complete list).
What makes us human? Is it our ability to use language, tools, or technology? Trace the history of homo sapiens and explore our evolutionary trail through an anthropologic lens to observe our movement from cave dwellers to modern humans. Learn how we forged our way and developed all of the things that make us humans, such as our cultures, languages, and religions.
