About the Presentation:

This presentation will provide information on recognizing the signs and symptoms of anxiety in teens and ways to create opportunities for communication. The interactive presentation will offer examples of how to have a collaborative conversation and show parents how to create a self-care plan for daily healthy habits.

About the Presenter:

For the past 17 years, Dr. Amanda Martin specializes in working with people and families with trauma.  She has a Ph.D. in Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor.  Additionally, Dr. Martin is Board Certified in Neurofeedback and Certified in EMDR therapy (as an EMDR Therapist, Approved Consultant, and Basic Trainer).  Her office offers many services, including therapy for individuals, family, and couples, EMDR therapy, Neurofeedback, HeartMath, Equine-Assisted psychotherapy, and Animal-Assisted Therapy. Her office is a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals, and services can be provided in-office or telehealth services are offered by video conferencing.  For more information, visit www.amandamartincounseling.com 

About the Workshop Series: 

"Parenting Today's Teens" is a FREE workshop series sponsored by Mirus Academy, focusing on raising teens with positive psychology for peaceful parenting.  We are an inclusive group and open to all parents of teens in the Katy community.  The profesional presentation will be approximately one hour, followed by discussion and socializing. Refreshments will be served.  RSVP is encouraged, but not required, so please feel free to invite other parents to join you!
