MIRUS ACADEMY 

By scheduling the use of the Mirus Academy school building, you are agreeing to follow all of the policies listed below: 

 

1)  TIMES: All rentals are for a minimum of 2 hours.  Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance; otherwise, you will be charged for 2 hours usage. 

 

2) WEEKDAY RENTALS:  The rental time begins at 6 pm and may last as long as desired, as long as the building is clean and ready for students by 7 am the next day

  

3) WEEKEND RENTALS:  On weekends, rentals may begin at any time during the day (book the 6-8 pm slot, but make a note of the actual time you plan to be here).

 

4) RENTAL FEE:  Rental fees are negotiated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the number of participants, purpose of the rental, frequency of rentals, etc. 

 

5)  ALLOWED ACTIVITIES:  Mirus Academy is first and foremost a school, and all activities conducted on the school campus must be school-friendly. All activities that are not legal for children under 18 are prohibited (including, but not limited to, alcohol, smoking, drugs, gambling, weapons, sexual content, etc.).  All content that is recorded and posted online must be teen-friendly ("PG-13", not "R") and may not harm the reputation of the school should the content be viewed by Mirus students, parents, or alumni.  

 

6) SCHOOL NAME:  For the safety of students, if publishing content to the internet, the school name and address should not be listed or available anywhere in your content. 

 

7) NOISE:  The City of Katy is a quiet town with a noise ordinance from 10 pm - 6 am.  The school building is next door to a Birthing Center, a church, and many residential homes.  It is essential that the school maintain a friendly relationship with all its neighbors, so loud music and other noises are not permitted ("loud" is defined as noises that can be heard by someone not directly on school property)

8)  CLEANING:  Any individual or group renting the building must clean up after themselves, including putting furniture back in the proper spaces, vacuuming/mopping as needed, cleaning white boards that were used, and taking out the trash and recyclables.  The building must be clean and ready for students before leaving the campus. 

 

9)  SECURITY:  Please be aware that for everyone's safety, the building is equipped with security cameras in every public space of the campus, both inside the building and outside.   

 

10)  SIGNED WAIVERS:  Mirus Academy is not liable for any damages or injuries that occur as a result of using the school building. Every participant must submit a signed waiver form before engaging in activities on campus (forms may be accessed at www.Mirus-Academy.org/waiver)
